Preserving Bay City's rich architectural history and using our buildings as a catalyst for improving the quality of life in Mid-Michigan is vital to the development of the arts, cultural activities and the economy. You can be part of this by donating to the BAC Masonic Fund!

Several foundations and businesses encouraged the decision to purchase the building, pledging financial support for the purchase. These include Russell H & Maxim E Smith Charitable Foundation, The Kantzler Foundation, Frank Janca Best Realty, Wal-Mart Foundation, S.C. Johnson, Jaycees, and Bay Area Community Foundation. With the help of generous members of the community, we are preparing the details for finalizing the purchase.

But the work of renovating and repurposing the building is just beginning. The Leadership Bay County Class of 2007-2008 raised funds to renovate the women's bathroom and that project will be started early in 2009. We also need to work on the foundation as soon as funds are identified. You can be a part of that source, stepping up to say "Yes, our heritage is important to our future as a vibrant, healthy community!" Be a Dreamer - dream Big! What could the Temple be?

  • An Arts Center?
  • An Arts Academy?
  • Performance/rehearsal space?
  • An arts incubator?
